Enter the World of ECHO

Step into the vibrant world of ECHO, where a curious young woman named FUTURE explores our deep connection with animals and nature. Alongside her loyal friend Ewai the Dog, she discovers a mysterious Cube that reveals how our actions can shape the world around us.

Blending breathtaking acrobatics, rich visuals, and stirring music, ECHO is a fantastical journey through color, emotion, and imagination.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Cirque du Soleil ECHO is the 20th Big Top creation from Cirque du Soleil and its 51st overall.
  • The show explores themes of connection, intention, and the symbiotic unions between humans and animals.
  • The mysterious CUBE at the heart of the show is essentially the size of a 2-story apartment building!

Cirque du Soleil ECHO beautifully blends story with a spectacular range of acrobatic performances, all taking place on, in, around, or throughout the mysterious CUBE. You’ll witness performances like bungee straps, banquine, icarian games, double hair suspension, slackwire and triple teeterboards.

The Key Characters

FUTURE

FUTURE is the protagonist of Cirque du Soleil's ECHO and sees the world through the eyes of a new generation. With her playful companion, Ewai "the Dog," she wanders through an enigmatic CUBE, setting in motion a journey full of experiences, discoveries, hope, and connection.

EWAI «THE DOG»

Ewai "the Dog," a symbol of unconditional love, is FUTURE's selfless companion, and his only wish in life is to make her happy. With his playful and curious nature, Ewai "the Dog" helps FUTURE form unique connections with the animal characters throughout her journey.

DOUBLE TROUBLE

Productivity is the driving force behind the comedic duo DOUBLE TROUBLE. They represent an era of industrialization, and their appearance marks the beginning of the extraction of the CUBE. Don’t miss how they recruit other characters (and maybe even you) to help them stack boxes, build structures, and achieve their ambitious goals.

THE FOSSORIAL

THE FOSSORIAL is an introverted creature that lives alone underground. Any action that takes place on the surface directly affects its home and livelihood, so from time to time, you'll see it poke its head out to see what's going on.

The Acts

The acts are subject to change due to the live nature of the show.

Symbiosis – Acro-dance (vertical ballet)

In a mesmerizing opening act of discovery and unity, a troupe of delicate paper animals glide along the surfaces of the Cube. From atop the towering structure to along its vertical edges, the graceful and intricate dance of the paper animals evokes a sense of fragility and interconnectedness among all living beings.

Cartographer - Bungee straps

Suspended by the treads of knowledge and enlightenment, the Cartographer is a bright and luminous intellectual. With effortless expression, he writes a new story upon the Cube - not of nature and animals,, but of logic, science and reason. With each strokes and each leap, the Cartographer charts a new course for humankind, guiding us towards uncharted territories of possibility. This fascinating new figure excites Future, but the animals aren't so certain.

Extraction and Icarian Games

Two acrobats launch into a dizzying display of flips and rotations, their synchronized movement mimicking the rhythm of a machine. As the energy builds, their bodies become the driving force behind the extraction of boxes from The CUBE, propelling the narrative forward with mechanical intensity and raw momentum.

Resist and Express – Banquine and Korean Cradle

The color paper people burst onto the scene in a stunning fusion of banquine and Korean cradle. With FUTURE's encouragement and the ever-pulsing cube, they leap, spin, and catch one another in midair. What begins as chaos transforms into joyful collaboration, as they discover the strength of unity and the importance of play.

Double Slackwire

In a tense tableau of double slackwire, two animals teeter on the brink of axtinction. As they traverse a desolate landscapre, each step a testament to their resilience, FUTURE is struck by the fragility of life and their indomitable will to survive. Through their struggles, strengh and grace, she is reminded of the delicate balance that sustainsus all, and sets out on a new mission.

Rebuilding on flying poles

Once torn apart by the changes around them, humans and animals cautiously reunite to rebuild the CUBE. Slowly, carefully, they breathe life back into the structure, working together to replace its boxes and rebuild what was lost. Meanwhile, FUTURE inscribes a new vsion for tomorrow.

Ewai the dog juggles with love

In an act of love and gratitude, the DOG gets carried away playing catch, and breaks into a fascinating juggling act. That’s when he encounters the FOSSORIAL, who adds several objects to the DOG’s hands, forcing him to get more and more creative with how he juggles it all.

The Fossorial's Contortion

The FOSSORIAL puts his flexibility and adaptability on full display in a contortionist act that will leave audiences stunned when the artist dislocates his limbs to maintain his loving embrace with FUTURE and Ewai The Dog.

FUTURE and the Washington Trapeze

When FUTURE looks up to see the final missing box flying in the air, she realizes it’s up to her to place the missing piece back into the CUBE. The Washington trapeze descends towards her in a poetic moment, as the animals return to stage to orchestrate her flight.

Celebrating Connection on Triple Teeterboards

In a high-flying performance, the paper animals celebrate connection and coexistence through an exhilarating triple teeterboard act. As the playful birds take flight from their teeterboards, they inject a palpable energy into the air, overjoyed by the feeling of togetherness.

FUELED BY THE POWER OF CHANGE

“Cirque du Soleil ECHO is about connecting everybody together, and working together to create the world we want to live in. It’s not just a concept. It’s something I truly believe in.”
